The Tools of Our Trade

Whether you want to solve spray problems, optimize performance or find new ways to spray, we can help.  Our engineers use state-of-the-art tools such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to simulate and predict spray performance using your actual process conditions. We also have the world's largest spray laboratory filled with highly specialized equipment.

  • Automated Spray Systems: Automated spray systems and controllers provide precision control and flexible operation for easy adjustment during testing.
  • Impact Measurement Device: A proprietary device that determines impact, lateral and transverse distribution, coverage and spray thickness.
  • Laser Diffraction Particle Analyzer: Drop size measurement using light scattering techniques.  Ideally suited for small to medium sprays.
  • Laser Sheet Imaging: 2D spray shape/distribution measurements using laser sheet imaging techniques.  Ideally suited for small sprays and high viscosity fluids applications.
  • Meteorlogical Particle Sensor: Measures large droplets generated by high-flow nozzles using optical laser measurement techniques.
  • Particle/Image Analyzer: Drop size and 2D velocity measurement using laser imaging techniques. Ideally suited for medium to large sprays and applications involving non-transparent or high solids content fluids.
  • Phase Doppler Analyzers: Drop size and 2D velocity measurement using light scattering techniques.  Ideally suited for small to medium sprays.
  • Spray Nozzle Patternators: Spray distribution measurements using liquid collection techniques.  Ideally suited for medium to large sprays, often most useful to optimize spray coverage in conveyor applications.
  • Customized Wind Tunnel: 2ft x 2ft cross-section, pressure driven wind tunnel which is often used with the drop size measurement systems listed above. Typically used to assess the change in spray characteristics in co-flow/counter-flow environments. Ideal for simulating gas cooling applications.
  • Rheology Lab: Liquid property measurement capability including density, viscosity, and surface tension.
  • Other equipment includes:
    • Mass air flow meters
    • High pressure pumps
    • High flow pumps
